The identity of the mystery arsonist and how Jamie, Claire, and the rest of those living at Fraser’s Ridge proceed in the wake of the arsonist’s destruction will surely test each character as the newest season develops. While the identity of the perpetrator is purposely hidden from the viewer, it could be presumed the shackled hands belong to Wendigo Donner (Brennan Martin), the prisoner, and fellow traveler, who was in the cell adjacent to Claire at the end of season 6. Unfortunately, it seems as though such fears will inevitably come to fruition, as it’s clear the fire will be a major incident in Outlander’s upcoming season.Īs the trailer progresses, Claire can be seen telling someone off-camera to “get the hell out of my house,” just before the person, who appears to be in shackles, strikes a match and lets it fall to the ground inside her home, presumably setting the house ablaze. The dust has barely settled on the Season 6 finale of Starz’s hit historical time-traveling series, Outlander. Because of this, the knowledge of their deaths has loomed over them since she arrived in the past. However, the exact date of the incident was smudged, meaning the fire could take place at any time during the 1770s. If the trailer is any indication, the upcoming season of Outlander will be a jammed packed one.Īudiences will remember back in season 4 when Bree’s journey down the rabbit hole to the past was prompted after discovering a newspaper article discussing the deaths of Jamie and Claire in a house fire. As the trailer unfolds, scenes of war are prevalent, a fire at the Fraser homestead seems apparent, and the inner turmoil Jamie faces amid a war rise to the surface. It should be noted that Jamie, Bree (Sophie Skelton), and Roger (Richard Rankin) are nowhere to be seen, which could be a hint as to the context of the scene. The trailer opens with Claire attending what looks to be a funeral, although there’s no indication as to who the procession is for. There have been drips and drabs as to what is yet to come, but now the war is in full swing, and Jamie and Claire appear to be in the middle of it all. Since arriving in the colonies at the end of the finale of season 3, Claire (Caitríona Balfe) has been warning Jamie (Sam Heughan) of the impending revolution. The newest trailer was recently released, and it’s packed with clues as to how the upcoming season will unfold. Much to the delight of Outlander fans, the penultimate season of the STARZ series returns next month with a supersized 16-episode season.
